The Lakewood Bar and Grill announced a permanent closure via its Facebook page yesterday. According to a short post on their wall:

I am sad to say that after 18 years of serving the Lakewood area the LBG is closed! Thank you to all the bands that played and for all the customers that patronized us. To all the bands that are are booked I appologize for the last minute notice.

The bar's website lists bookings through September 17th. Those have been cancelled, but the site lists no additional information about the reason the "live music capital of Lakewood" has shuttered its doors. Pegasus is reporting that the bar couldn't keep up with its rent.

A phone call to the bar went unanswered.
