Take A Shelling
How many ways are there to prepare shrimp? Been awhile since Forrest Gump's friend Bubba cataloged them all. But if you're interested ticking a few off the list, check out this weekend's "Salute to Shellfish" at Central Market, featuring fried shrimp, boiled shrimp, grilled shrimp, and even a little down-under-style shrimp.
Fresh Gulf Shrimp is on sale for only $6.99 per pound, which will come in handy if you want to try one or a few of the store's 50 or so shrimp recipes. And shrimp isn't the only shellfish in the limelight. Live lobsters are back, as are oysters, Littleneck clams and some of those spidery things they fish out of Alaskan waters.
Feel like a fish out of water when faced with fish out of water? Central Market fishmongers will be on hand to answer questions and offer suggestions (pertinent ones). They've set up a number of demo and sampling stations, too.
