The Twinkie Shall Return on July 15, Should Probably Synergize with Pabst Blue Ribbon

Yesterday Candice Choi at the Huffington Post hit one out of Twinkie Park with an extensive overview of the Twinkie Revitalization Plan. Here's the crux of it: Twinkies will be back on the shelves July 15.

However, there are a few other important things for us to consider. For example, since Hostess is no longer a Texas-based company, will City of Ate still be able to incessantly write about the cream-filled snack cake even though it's not a "regional issue"? (Yes. Of course.)

Also, will we feel differently purchasing Twinkies if we can no longer justify it with "I'm supporting a local company"? (No, our loyalties are sloppy at best.)

Lastly, will anyone cry when they get a fresh new Twinkie in mid-July? (Please Instagram if so. Consider the amaro filter.)

Perhaps the most fascinating revelation is that the same company that now owns Twinkies, Apollo Global Management, also owns Pabst Brewing Co. and it appears there could be some cross-promotional marketing opportunities:

"There is certainly a natural association with the two," Metropoulos said. "There could be some opportunities for them to seen together."

We're not sure what the "natural association" between Twinkies and Pabst is, but, hey, we're willing to play along. Twinkies and a P.B.R? Stunning...

July 15 is exactly three weeks from today, in case you're a planner-type.
