Party at Fearing's Place Dean Fearing loves a good party, and he's throwing a little bash at his namesake restaurant, Fearing's at the Ritz Carlton, on August 18 at 6:30 p.m. along with his friend and barbecue legend Chris Lilly of Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q, who has a special talent for pulled pork.
Additionally, Fearing's friends from Deep Ellum Brewing Co. will be there with new brewer Jeremy Hunt, who will suggest pairings with the menu. Expect a lot of the aforementioned pulled pork, beef short ribs and iron skillet mac and cheese. And expect Fearing to pluck at his guitar with that big smile on his face. Tickets are $75 per person and include some beer and a sangria. Call 214-922-4817 to reserve a spot.
Peticolas at The Grape You might want to go ahead and grab a spot for this one. On August 27 at 7 p.m., Michael Peticolas will load up pints of beer and head over to The Grape to host a dinner prepared by chef de cuisine Danyele McPherson. Dinner is $55 per person and each dish will be paired with the lovely brews of Peticolas.
FT33 Goes Whole Hog Chef Matt McCallister at FT33 will have a two guest chefs in his kitchen for a whole hog head-to-tail dinner on September 9. Chef Andrew Wiseheart of Contigo in Austin and chef Robert Lyford of Patine Green Home and Market will craft a nine-course meal using local ingredients including one whole pig for a dinner that costs $95 per person. Wine pairings are an additional $50. The dinner is at McCallister's restaurant in the Design District. Call 214-741-2629 for reservations, which we reckon will go quick.
