Wild Salsa Arrives, The Table Folds, and More From a Busy Month in the Restaurant Biz
As summer reaches its peak, another round of restaurants have opened and closed their doors to the public. Wild Salsa, the highly anticipated Mexican restaurant from DRG Concepts, had its grand opening last month, as did a few others. Meanwhile, other joints around town have abruptly closed for renovations or for good.

Wild Salsa (1800 Main St.): On Tuesday, July 12, DRG Concepts opened its new downtown Mexican restaurant with a culinary team led by Chef Kelly Hightower, previously of Nova.
Buzzbrews (2801 Commerce): A new 24-hour Buzzbrews has opened in Deep Ellum, in the former space of Cowboy Chow.
Rohst (2817 Greenville): The Asian-infused restaurant opened on July 14 in the Lower Greenville strip that burned down in March 2010. The menu includes everything from avocado pork rolls to the Hawaiian burger and pan-pacific halibut.
The Table (inside The Commissary) (1722 Routh St.): The private room inside John Tesar's The Commissary has closed. Word is it will re-open with a fresh new concept in a month or two.
Decanter Wine Lounge (408 North Bishop Ave.): The Oak Cliff winery has shut its doors for good.
Rock N' Taco (2916 McKinney Ave.) : The McKinney Avenue taqueria abruptly closed its doors to "remodel." We're working on more details but no one's answering the phone.
Trece (4513 Travis St.) : We called the Knox restaurant and were told that they are closed for renovations.
Mad Tavern (18101 Preston Rd.): The gastropub is set to open on August 26, serving more than 120 choices of beer (30 on tap.)
Pho Colonial (1623 Main St.) : The Vietnamese diner opens Wednesday.
Guillaumes Gourmet Café (223 West Jefferson Blvd.) : The café is set to open in the Oak Cliff Cultural center.
Off-Site Kitchen (2226 Irving Blvd.) : Nick Badovinus's restaurant is set to open in the design district any day now.
