This past week on our food blog, we celebrated Burger Week (basically, a week-long holiday we conjured to rank the cheeseburgers in Dallas). As one commenter suggested, perhaps next week will be Lipitor Week. Anyway, food critic Scott Reitz created Burger Smackdowns: pitting different classes of burgers against each other. This is how he landed.

i have had hopdoddy's AND liberty burger (which btw appear to be the exact same thing, down to the menu), and i have had neighborhood services burgers, as well as many of the rumored "top" burger spots across dfw. osk is consistently the best. i have not had the one featured above, but i have had several burgers off of their menu and they ridiculously good!!!

I'd consider taking a look at Hopdoddy's Burger !!! It's expensive and with over 10 different choices, it's sure to please just about every burger palate...located in Preston Center where the 24 hour fitness used to be located.

Yall are missing out if you dont give Mixed Up Burgers in Grand Prairie a chance. They will smackdown all these burgers! Highway 360 and ave k or second location in Grand Prairie Airport, they have the 1/4, 1/3, and 1/2 burgers cooked fresh never frozen and cooked to your specifications! You choose 3 free mix ins and can add more to build your ultimate burger this aint no 5 min fast food burger. 1.00 coors on tap 2.00 domestics, they are a community establishment, family owned. they give to local schools and charitable events through out the year!

@acekingsuited2199 Does Mixed up Burgers cook over Hickory or Mesquite? Are their fries fresh hand cut, or frozen?

Don't miss the burgers at Neighborhood Services in Preston Royal, cooked over Hickory with homemade "toasted" sesame bun, homemade pickles, and fresh hand cut fries, with an amazing seasoning salt on the fries........to die for!
