Members of law enforcement from various cities along with the general public gathered with heavy hearts at City Hall Monday night. The occasion was a candlelight vigil in honor of the 5 DPD officers that lost their lives in last week's mass shooting. Although the cause for this assembly was tragic in nature, it gave the general public and the Police Officers that protect them a chance to socialize and interact with one another on a personal level. Throughout the crowd there were hugs, handshakes and laughter before and after the fallen were paid their respects. Many tears were shed and hearts are still broken but those in attendance were reinvigorated through support from each other and hope for a more unified future.
