Downtown Dallas' Earthfest 2009 shut down early because of the rain. It was scheduled to run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. But the rain never let up, and by noon, the wind picked up and most everybody started packing up their tables and tents. Even Elvis, who came to shake up the crowd at ATT Plaza, had to go home early. The downtown clean-up involving office workers from the surrounding buildings was canceled. The anticipated recycled fashion show still went on, but inside a building, and only judges were there to see models dressed in outfits made of magazine pages and bottle caps.
