Rick Perry's nickname in high school was "6 Shooter and a Suit"

Texas Motor Speedway (as we tried to avoid "starting off with a bang" cliches) launched its season with a celebration in Sundance Square yesterday in Fort Worth. With the party came the announcement: April 15th-18th is officially Race Weekend in Fort Worth. Rick Perry and Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief fired off the starter 6-shooters, and 2000 Sprint Cup Champion Bobby Labonte & 21-year old, Ovalo Texas native Colin Braun presented the politicians with signed race helmets. In fitting Fort Worth style, two "Molly the Trolley's," souped-up to be Nascar worthy with decals and spoilers (yes, seriously), paraded the Nascar crew down Fort Worth square.
