Full Dispatch: At the Mayor's Rally Against Domestic Violence, Big Promises and Some Mixed Messages
On Saturday, Mayor Mike Rawlings called upon the men of Dallas to help end domestic abuse. Former Cowboy Roger Staubach and running back Emmitt Smith along with about 5,000 locals led the way for the first Rally Against Domestic Violence. Even Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant, who was arrested for allegedly hitting his mother, made a brief appearance to apologize, saying "I made a mistake." The rally took place at Dallas City Hall Plaza and was part of a public campaign waged by mayor Rawlings in response to an influx of high-profile crimes against woman.
