The Scenes at PARK(ing) Day 2012

1 of 28

A little background: last year in the short stretch of road between Pearl and Olive, a dozen or so groups hijacked metered parking spaces with tiny museums, music, lil' soccer, and a good deal of hanging out. They were miniature parks, set up by Dallas' inaugural Park(ing) Day and co-founder Noah Jeppson--a San Francisco born movement.

Yesterday, it happened again. Stretching out towards sections of Main and Harwood and part Commerce Street in Deep Ellum, PARK(ing) Day hung out in downtown. There was art, mini-soccer & golf, and a lot of good spirits. Photographer Danny Hurley was on hand to capture the scenes.
