Reading the DSO's schedule, both of us were perplexed by the name of the act appearing 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Meyerson Symphony Center, 2301 Flora St. You have to admit a name like the 5 Browns raises a lot of questions...Are they five opera-singing football players from Cleveland? Or perhaps a poorly named Latino horn ensemble? Or are they five turds in top hats and coattails singing the jazz hits of yesteryear? Needless to say, we were frightened at the possibility of dancing feces on the Meyerson stage. But what with the rise in fecal fetishes these days—what's up, Hot Carl!—we can't say we would have been shocked. Of course, the Meyerson is known for its cleanliness so we should have realized that the 5 Browns would, of course, be the white-bread piano-playing sibling act. Silly us—guess we can leave the Cottonelle at home. Apparently, "ripples [and the 5 Browns] equal clean." Tickets are $20 to $55. Call 214-692-0203 or visit DallasSymphony.com.
