The eternal swan. That might a better name for the ballet we love to hate. OK, so maybe hate is too strong of a word to use, but more often than not, when we dance writers see Swan Lake on the bill for a company’s season, we shudder with fear that this could be yet another bad production, and are simultaneously excited because it’s a beautiful piece of choreography and music. Plus, it’s a crowd-pleaser. See the beloved ballet in which Prince Siegfried is duped into falling in love with the wrong Odette when Texas Ballet Theatre mounts Swan Lake at 8 p.m. Friday at the Bass Performance Hall, 525 Commerce St., Fort Worth. Friday's performance begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are $15-$175. There also will be matinee and evening performances Saturday and Sunday. More information and tickets are available at texasballettheater.org.
