All Bettes Are On

So Im just going to assume all of you know about the classic film Jezebel and the Oscar it won Bette Davis (not to mention another that went to supporting actress Fay Bainter). But did you know that Miss Bette took this role because she lost the part of Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind? We'd have two very different classics had she actually won the role. You know, right after Rhett tells Bette that he doesn't give a damn, she'd tell him in her signature way to eff off...or at least you'd see it in her eyes. Jezebel was the perfect vehicle for Davis: The role of a resolute woman with hidden fragility was one that only she could play. See for yourself this week at Gachet Coffee Lounge's Get Reel Mondays. All shows start after sundown on their rooftop, 1804 Greenville Ave. Call 214-887-8095 or visit
