It doesn't take a rocket scientist to snap a few quick photos, but it does take some pretty sweet skills to take capture the perfect picture. I mean, come on, it's tough finding that perfect angle and the perfect background to go along with it. But Dornith Doherty seems to have mastered it. The University of North Texas professor of photography is opening her showroom full of photos depicting the face of climate change, extinction of natural species and decreased agricultural diversity for all to see. The public is welcome to view Doherty's Vault, an exhibition of documentary photographs and plant X-rays at UNT on the Square, 109 N. Elm St., through February 8, 2011. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays; 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays; 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. on Fridays; and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
