This Friday night, the AT&T Performing Arts Center was to have opened its brand new Winspear Opera House Recital Series with a solo performance by renowned American pianist André Watts. Unfortunately, the organization has just announced that because of illness, Watts will not be able to perform and the recital has been postponed.

The Winspear Opera House Recital Series is an exciting addition to Dallas' classical music offerings. While the Fort Worth-based Cliburn Foundation has a tradition of bringing big-name classical performers to Bass Hall for solo recitals, Dallas has not had a similar series until now. In addition to Watts, the series' inaugural season includes upcoming performances by pianist Khatia Buniatishvili in April and violinist Itzhak Perlman in May.

AT&T PAC has not yet announced a new date for the Watts recital, but ticket holders are encouraged to hold on to their tickets as they will be honored for the rescheduled performance.
