Artistic Turf Wars

There’s a longstanding rivalry between the Dallas and Fort Worth arts districts. And you know what competition creates, right? Growth and improvements, which you, the aesthetically driven arts patron, get to enjoy. Take the Fort Worth Festival of the Arts happening this weekend in our neighboring ’hood. It’s the debut of the new festival and arts market, where patrons can interact with a range of artists as they show off their goodies. From painting and sculpture to jewelry and fiber works, the best pieces will be available to those who venture west. Well, this weekend, anyway. Spend your afternoon browsing their wares from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Fort Worth Cultural District, along West Lancaster Avenue by the Will Rogers Memorial Center. The event is free.
