For musical lovers, the hottest ticket in town is the season subscription for the AT&T Performing Arts Center Broadway Series. These are the people who have brought Book of Mormon to Dallas twice, and continue to book Broadway's blockbusters. Monday night, the theater announced its 2015/16 season, which doesn't disappoint.
If you've been to New York City in the last two years, these are the musicals you've fought over seats for at the TKTS booth, or seen flashing on Times Square. And while it doesn't sound like the Cabaret tour will include Emma Stone or Alan Cumming, this healthy mix of revivals and new musicals is sure to be a hit. The one you're likely to be least familiar with is Love Letters, which isn't a musical at all, but an A.R. Gurney play about lifelong love and connection -- think a two-person play version of the The Notebook without the sexy, young people. Might be the dud of the season, or the surprise hit. Nevertheless, here's the line-up.
Matilda the Musical:September 23 - October 4, 2015 Jersey Boys- December 16 - 27, 2015 Love Letters- March 22 - April 3, 2016 Cabaret - May 25 - June 5, 2016 Beautiful - The Carole King Musical - June 7 - June 19, 2016
Plus, ATTPAC announces A Gentleman's Guide To Love And Murder will be a part of its 2016/17 season.
