Bring It On! They Need Our Help.

Look. We can’t all bring it on. We can’t all sit in the back of the bus with the football studs. Some of us have to haul the water bottles and sweaty uniforms and then sit up front with the coach and his spit cup. Lucky for those of us who never actually got to see the cheerleaders perform in pep rallies because we were too busy listening to the Smiths or determining how difficult it is to navigate the rest of the school day with wedgie-torn underwear, The National Cheerleaders Association All-Star Championship is here. We now have a grand opportunity to give cheerleaders the much-needed attention they surely never receive during the course of a normal school day. Support the cause on February 25, beginning at 8 a.m., at the Dallas Convention Center, 650 S. Griffin St. Admission is $15 at the door. Visit for information.

KEEP THE DALLAS OBSERVER FREE... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
