Caution: Belly Laughs Ahead

You braved the crowds and finished your Christmas shopping ahead of everyone else, so now it's time for a present for yourself. Leave the kids at home and check out some "inappropriate humor for all" with Slow Children Crossing, a Los Angeles-based sketch comedy group featuring Brett J. Butler, Destini Meshack, Alem Sapp, Tiffany Thomas and Booker T. grad Saudia Rashed. The group, who's in talks to have its own reality show, will hit the stage with Common People, giving you a chance to see them before they explode onto the comedy scene. Catch the one-night-only performance Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Clarence Muse Cafe and Theatre, Black Academy of Arts and Letters at Dallas Convention Center Theater Complex, 650 S. Griffin St. Tickets are $19. Call 214-743-2400 or visit tbaal.org.

KEEP THE DALLAS OBSERVER FREE... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
