Who says that Austin should have all the fun? As SXSW fades from memory, check out the 17th Annual Deep Ellum Arts Festival for one of the best parties that Big D has to offer. With over 75 local bands spread out on five stages, the six block street party will also have plenty of food, drinks, artists, dancers, painters and poetry. But let's not forget the Pet Parade! Festival-goers will have a great excuse to dress their pooches up and parade them around the downtown area for a chance to win some great prizes and support Bark Park Central. The Deep Ellum Arts Festival runs Friday through Sunday. The party goes from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Registration for the pet parade starts at 11 a.m. at the Deep Ellum Dog Park. The event is free to the public, but note that it is geared towards adults, so the youngins will have to be supervised.
