Designing Men

Do you have a collection of knickknacks, art or priceless antiquities you'd like to put on public display? How about a few million dollars to spare? If so, it sounds like you've got a museum to build. But you might want to bring in some professional consultants, such as Aaron Betsky, Scott Johnson, Jorge Pardo and George Sexton, four experts in design that will speak this Saturday at the Magnolia Theatre as part of the Dallas Architecture Forum's 2009 Design Symposium. You don't have to be a millionaire or even a collector to enjoy the presentation though, as the four men will discuss some of the bigger projects they've been a part of, like the Netherlands Architecture Institute (Aaron Betsky), the American Indian Cultural Center (Scott Johnson) and New York City's Guggenheim (Jorge Pardo), Met and MoMa (George Sexton). The panel takes place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Individual tickets are $50, or $100 for the Symposium and the cocktail reception. Call 214-764-2406 or visit for more information.
Sat., May 9, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., 2009
