Rusty, Trixie, Geoffrey, Sugar Bear and Sweetheart need your help and a home, so through the month of October (Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month), Operation Kindness, a no-kill animal shelter, is offering a tasty adoption special. Each adopted dog 40 pounds or larger will go home with 40 pounds of free Iams dog food. The adoption cost of $135 also includes spay/neuter surgery, a microchip with lifetime registration, vaccinations and heartworm testing. Find a friend from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays (the facility is open until 8 p.m. Thursdays), and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays at 3201 Earhart Drive in Carrollton.
