Welcome to another edition of Geek-Offs, where you'll find the perfect distractions to help you muddle your way through hump day each week.
Trying to decide on what to have for lunch? If you're anything like Hungry Sumo, you'll most likely eat massive quantities of rice and then knock about the office bumping into friends and enemies alike in an attempt at total world domination. Unfortunately bodily harm in the workplace is generally frowned upon, so we'd advise you to open up a new browser window and live vicariously through your new pink mawashi-wearing sumo buddy.
A new game by Ninja Kiwi, Hungry Sumo has a super simple game mechanic - just hover the mouse over your sumo to make him gorge on rice/grow ginormous, and bash into other evil sumos in an effort to shrink them into your minions -- which adds to the game's addictive nature. Bump and bash your way through 50 levels of fun, just say you're taking an extra long lunch break.
Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
