Fashion & Film

There is something eerie and beautiful about the song “Pure Imagination.” Of course, the story of Willy Wonka's disciplinary chocolate factory bears its own creepy portrayal of strangers with candy. And the song, with lyrics about viewing paradise in “the world of my creation” has inspired quite a few remakes – most recently by Fiona Apple for the anti-GMO Chipotle commercial with the sad scarecrow. It's little wonder that when a duo of film and fashion lovers picked a theme for an event they would find a muse in the song's dark whimsy. Find out what that inspiration led to at the 2nd annual Fashion & Film event this weekend. Throw on your cocktail dress and arrive at 7:03 p.m. on the dot Saturday at the Margo Jones Theatre (1121 First Ave) for a fanciful evening. Tickets are available through for $20.
