Though the economy is improving, times are still hard and any chance to turn a buck at honest entrepreneurship shouldn't be passed up. So, here's a tip: Lay in a stock of cheap tissues from Sam's Club and position yourself outside the Denton Community Theatre as it presents Little Women the Musical, a singing version of the Louisa May Alcott novel. If you don't know the story, trust us: There will be blubbering galore, and you could make a killing. Director Buster Maloney stays true to the novel's roots, following the lives of four impoverished sisters — Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy March — as they grow up and endure hardship in 19th century Massachusetts. Disease, death, love, loss, rivalry and enough saccharine to sweeten all the iced tea in Mississippi fill this classic American story that endures as an adolescent favorite despite its complete absence of vampires, wizards or death matches. Tickets are $20 or $10 for students and children. It's suitable for all ages and is onstage until April 15. The Denton Community Theatre is located at 214 West Hickory St.. For more information, visit campustheatre.comfor specific times and dates or call 940-382-1915.
Fridays-Sundays. Starts: April 6. Continues through April 15, 2012
