Green Yule

Got a loved one with a green thumb, or have any kids on your Christmas list whom you really hate? Texas Discovery Gardens is selling plants, shrubs and flowering plants that they say are "great gift ideas for all occasions and ages." Um...right. "Sorry, Junior, but those Playstation 3s were just a little pricey. Here, go plant this crape myrtle. Junior, what are you doing with that shovel? Junior? Hey! Aieee!" Forget the "all ages" claim, but if you have a gardener on your list, stop by the state's first certified organic public garden at 3601 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Fair Park. The gardens are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. By appointment only. Call 214-428-7476 or visit for more info.
Mondays-Fridays. Starts: Dec. 6. Continues through Dec. 31
