Gutter Balls and Alley Cats

Join the League of Animal Protectors (LAP), which also doubles as a bowling league. LAP will host its second annual bowling tournament, Strikes for Strays, Sunday. Bowl solo or gather three to six of your best bowling buds to compete as a team. Registration is $25 per bowler and participants will receive two hours of bowling, shoe rental, coffee and desserts, goody bag and a T-shirt. If bowling isn’t your forte, try your hand at bidding. There will be a giant silent auction featuring donations from SpeedZone, Pluckers, Nolan Ryan, QuikTrip, P.F. Chang’s, Texas Motor Speedway and many more. All proceeds will benefit cuddly creatures of the dog and cat variety. The fun starts at 1 p.m. and rolls along till 4 at the Super Bowl in Plano (2521 K Ave.). Last year’s party sold out, so register your team now at laprescue.org.
