Joe Fashion

As any fan of Project Runway knows, much has been said over the blending of fabric and art in the name of fashion. But what about blending fabric and art in the name of art? Artist Joseph Havel does just that in his exhibition of sculptural constructions based on the drapery and other technical characteristics of curtains, tablecloths, linens and dress shirts. Joseph Havel: Two Sheets (to the wind) is on view from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays through December 24 at the Dallas Contemporary, 2801 Swiss Ave. Admission is free. Call 214-821-2522 or visit
Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: Sept. 4. Continues through Dec. 24, 2008
KEEP THE DALLAS OBSERVER FREE... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
