Though it goes against every fiber of our being, there's a special place in our hearts for certain con artists. No, we still want bad, bad things to happen to the likes of Bernie Madoff and his sleazy ilk, but we've got a soft spot for Danny Ocean and all of the other loveable grifters in part because of one man: Professor Harold Hill. Perhaps it's the way he carries a tune or it's in his ability to sweep Marian the Librarian off her feet in spite of herself, but we love him and all of the residents of River City thanks to Meredith Wilson's beloved classic The Music Man. Garland Summer Musicals presents The Music Man 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays through June 26 at Granville Arts Center, 300 N. Fifth St. in Garland. Tickets are $22 to $27. Call 972-205-2790 or visit garlandsummermusicals.org.
Fridays-Sundays. Starts: June 17. Continues through June 26, 2011
