I never even watched Ren & Stimpy, but everytime I read a nonsensical word that rhymes with “log” I get that stupid song stuck in my head, so let’s just roll with it. Ready? It’s Trogg! It’s Trogg! It’s lively and song-y and good. It’s Trogg! It’s Trogg! It’s what every musical should!...be. My musical stops there, but Trogg! The Musical is just getting started. Set in a quiet Southern California town back in the 1967 before “dude” and “brah” were words, Trogg! explores relationships — one between a prehistoric caveman and the lady anthropologist who finds him. One between that lady and her pompous ex-boyfriend. And finally, one between the lady’s daughter and the pompous ex’s son. GASP. Romance! Intrigue! Protruding brows! Trogg! The Musical has it all. Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
