When you think of classic Christmas movies, the first thing in your mind is probably Frank Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life, Bob Clarke’s A Christmas Story or some other overshown movie. It’s easy to forget that Die Hard, the classic, explode-’em-up-real-good action flick starring Bruce Willis, is technically also a Christmas movie, even if it features a megaton of gunfire, needless violence and explosive destruction of public and private property. The Alamo Drafthouse (100 S. Central Expressway) plans to screen this underrated holiday gem at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve as part of their “Tough Guy Cinema” series, right when Santa Claus will be making his rounds. Just to add to the experience, Alamo’s going to blow up some in-house pyrotechnics and well, you’ll want to see that. Bring a date, ’cause this one’s also a romance! Tickets cost $12.
