More Than a Dozen Laughs

The passion of Frank and Lillian Gilbreth's life was motion study: determining whether a process- from shaving to assembling a rifle- could be done more efficiently through fewer motions. In light of their 12 children, you have to wonder if the couple was also conducting experiments on the most efficient method for human reproduction. Acting for Children presents the play Cheaper by the Dozen, a true-life look at the huge family's comical life in the 1920s, at 10 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Plaza Theater, 521 W. State St. in Garland. Tickets are $6 to $9. Call 972-658-3915 or visit
