If the thought of church has your lapsed Catholic soul squirming and scratching like itchy underwear, then this may or may not be the show for you. The WaterTower Theatre in Addison is opening its season with Doubt, A Parable, a Pulitzer Prize-winning play by John Patrick Shanley (you know, the guy who wrote Moonstruck and that triumph of cinema Joe Versus the Volcano). He goes for a more subdued approach in telling this story about a nun who's certain that a priest is molesting a student, even in the face of a lot of uncertainties, but it's still a wonderful play. If you're in the mood for wrestling with moral quandaries, the WaterTower is located at 15650 Addison Road. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays, 8 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through October 26 (with additional 2 p.m. matinees October 18 and 25). Tickets are $22 to $40. Call 972-450-6232 or visit watertowertheatre.org.
Wednesdays, Thursdays, 7:30 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m.; Saturdays, 2 p.m. Starts: Oct. 2. Continues through Oct. 25, 2008
