Pirouette into America

Avant Chamber Ballet flawlessly combines tradition and innovation in their upcoming collaboration with Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The spirit of this year's SOLUNA Festival celebrates “Destination America” and illustrates what artists come to America for, inspiration and freedom. With well-known works choreographed by George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, Paul Mejia and a world premiere by Avant Chamber Ballet's Katie Puder will be united with local Dallas Symphony Orchestra musicians to bring an evening of inspiration. So, celebrate Cinco De Mayo with these inspiring stories derived from coming to the land of opportunity by heading to Dallas City Performance Hall (2520 Flora St.) at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Tickets $25, students $15. Go to avantchamberballet.org. for more info.
