This year's Texas Bear Round-Up is muscling up its four-day affair with a visit by celebrity blogger and children's book author Perez Hilton. From March 15 to the 18, Dallas will see an increase in big burly men, and those who adore them, as they pack up to paw their way to local wineries, dance floors and pool parties.

Hilton joins the boys on Friday night at Station 4 where he will dole out sips of TY KU Premium Sake & Asian Spirits. Set your snark rays on stun, because Perez isn't here to deface, while he will be live-blogging the event, the word is that he's on a mission to promote his anti-bullying campaign. The night is a fundraising effort, so your $30 cover will go to support Youth First Texas, AIDS Interfaith Network and Greg Dollgener Memorial AIDS Fund (GDMAF). And a warning to tiny people attempting to party with very buff men: You cannot hold your booze as well as they do, so don't even try. Remember, this event is being live-blogged.

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
