Justice the pit bull puppy died nearly three years ago, succumbing to injuries sustained during a senseless attack by a group of young men. Since that time, a fund established in his honor at DFW Rescue Me, the charity that spearheaded efforts to save the dog, has assisted many other animals that have been victims of abuse and neglect in Dallas. Barking Hound Village’s Kibble and Cocktails event at 7 p.m. Tuesday will help pad the coffers of that worthy cause with a combination of doggone delicious cuisine and drinks at 3015 at Trinity Groves, 3015 Gulden Lane. Featured tastings include bites from Nick and Sam's, Gemma, Rodeo Goat, LUCK, Amberjax, Kitchen LTO, Souk, Baboush and BARK Chocolate; drinks include cocktails mixed with Stoli vodka, and wine and beer tastings from the Texas Ale Project. All of the proceeds from the event, which also includes live music, dog adoptions, raffles and auctions, go to Rescue Me’s Justice Fund. Tickets are $100 at kibbleandcocktails.org.
