Not to be confused with the Odd Couple, the old couple in The Ochre House Theater’s production of OLD are a thousand times more surly, snarky and entertaining. Plus, the Odd Couple never spent time with pimps and whores ... that you know of. Dubbed a vaudeville tragedy in two acts, OLD is the newest creation from the man we named 2012’s Best Theater Director, Matthew Posey, and the play, inspired by the hysterically uncomfortable Shut Up, Little Man! recordings of the ’90s, is Posey at his finest. For the third production of its 2012-13 season, The Ochre House is bringing traditional vaudeville antics and music to a thoroughly modern story in its itty-bitty theater space, so grab your friends, new and old, and see OLD at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Ochre House Theater, 825 Exposition Ave. The play runs through February 2, with regularly scheduled performances Wednesdays through Saturdays. Tickets are $15. Trust us: You’ll want to call 214-826-6273 for a reservation. These shows always fill in advance. For more information, visit ochrehousetheater.com.
