Relive Puberty Bliss

Growing up in the ’90s, I have a very distinct memory of going to a friend’s house to watch a movie that involved boobies and the tall girl from Saved By the Bell. Earlier that week, he’d brought his dad’s VHS copy of Showgirls to school, letting people touch it for a dollar and bestowing on me the promise that we would watch it on their big-screen TV the next time his old man was out of town. I hadn’t even had my first kiss yet, but after the film was over I ran home for a cold shower, with Jessie Spano’s cover of “’I’m So Excited” on repeat in my head. Relive your pre-teen puberty bliss at Texas Theatre, 231 Jefferson Blvd., Saturday night with a special screening of the film. Plus, a pre-film show by Texas Burlesque Peepshow adds real tits into the mix. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $25 VIP. Doors at 8 p.m., show at 9. Visit thetexastheatre.com.
