I'm afraid to admit that I may not be the best person to write up this German Christmas Festival. I say that because so much of it seems to revolve around German food. A live holiday pastry demonstration, grilled bratwurst for sale, a 16,000-square-foot European grocery store—all of which have no appeal to me due to one disastrous lunch at a local German eatery. My food was blander than particle board, and I figured quickly that my palate was not suited for such cuisine. Suffice it to say, I may not see you at WeihnachtsFest. But what do I know? Along with food, the festival will host live music, games and even a Gingerbread Creation Competition. WeihnachtsFest takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the GermanDeli.com Outlet Store, 2890 Market Loop in Southlake. Call 817-410-9955 or visit GermanDeli.com.
