Schadenfreude, Anyone?

There's just nothing as satisfying as making others feel really bad about themselves. Take it from the Observer. We've made an entire publishing career out of it. Most times, people deserve it. But we stand up for the little guy, and that means rooting for the underdog in The Nerd, a play by Larry Shue. Nerds get a bad enough rap, and now we're gonna put some guy on spectacle for an entire weekend just because he might think wearing socks with sandals is a wise fashion choice? Oh, hell. You're right. It's unforgivable. Point and stare with abandon at the Duncanville Community Theatre, 106 S. Main St. in Duncanville. Shows are at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Tickets are $8 to $10. Visit dctheatre.org.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m. Starts: Sept. 14. Continues through Sept. 23
KEEP THE DALLAS OBSERVER FREE... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
