OK, so what to do you do if you're an up-start designer and don't land a spot on Project Runway? Doesn't mean you don't have the skills. Doesn't mean you can't cut a mean silhouette or work wonder with metals and clasps. Just means you may be one of the many finding it difficult to break into the cut-throat world of independent fashion, never mind the world of established labels. That's where the PIN Show comes in. Founded by indie designers Rachel Nichelson and Julie McCullough Kim, the PIN Show provides a forum for designers (jewelry and fashion), photographers, stylists and others to grab the attention of regional buyers and store owners. That's all fab for sure, but the best part is for we mere mortals. The public can experience fashion bliss as well as more than 200 Fall/Winter styles strut the runway and live photoshoots flash and pop throughout the event. And luckily, no one gets "Auf"ed. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., the show starts at 7 at The Door, 2513 Main St. Tickets are $10 at thepinshow.com.
