Show Love for the Locals

Whether you're whining about the current state of the stock market or your teacup poodle that refuses to do back flips, art is there to convey your feelings. Texas Christian University can fill your need for artistic expression with the 29th Annual Art in the Metroplex Exhibition, and features local artists' works, ranging from printmaking to mixed media. The exhibition takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday through September 30 at Moudy Gallery, 2800 S. University Drive in Fort Worth. Awards amounting to $2,000 will be presented to the top five picks chosen by the jurors on September 10. Admission is free. Call 817-257-7643 or visit artandhistory.tcu.edu.

KEEP THE DALLAS OBSERVER FREE... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
