Talk About Truth

It seems that Al Gore may have been underestimated. After defeat in 2000, Gore refocused his energy on saving the planet from what looks to be imminent catastrophe due to global warming. His crusade is captured on film in An Inconvenient Truth, a movie that follows Gore as he brings awareness about the state of the environment, and in the process, proves himself to be "funny, engaging, open and downright on fire about...what he calls our 'planetary emergency.'" Don't believe me? Well, thanks to Gore, you can look it up on the Internet. Sponsored by Texas Democratic Women of Collin County, An Inconvenient Truth shows at 7 p.m. Friday (with a panel discussion immediately following), at Angelika Film Center in Plano, 7205 Bishop Road. Tickets are $8.50, with group discounts available. Call 214-417-6003 or visit
