The Observer is looking for local freelance writers for this here arts and culture blog, The Mixmaster. Specifically, we're scouting for:
Art Critic/Columnist: We're looking for someone to contribute regular criticism and commentary on visual arts on a freelance basis. You'll need a passion for and background in visual arts and some professional writing experience.
Utility Hitter: We're also looking for someone to contribute several posts to this blog across a variety of genres of arts, culture, events and other Dallas-based frivolity, providing insightful peeks into upcoming events and breaking news from the scene. This is a part-time freelance position, roughly 10-15 hours per week (during the day, by the way, so if you have a full-time day job, this isn't for you).
Other contributors: Lastly, we need freelancers to contribute 1-3 posts per week covering specific genres they're specifically interested in and for which they can demonstrate some passion. Specifically, we're looking for people to write about: visual arts, comedy, dance, TV, film, etc.
