Things That Are Seen In The Night

Looking at the smallish paintings of Sarah Williams from a distance, they look so much like photographs it's hard to believe they're paintings. Upon closer inspection, however, they reveal themselves to be finely tuned creations of everyday places turned into ethereal locales thanks to careful strokes and mysterious sources of light. Reinvention of the nighttime norm, if you will. But Night Vision isn't the only thing Marty Walker Gallery is celebrating. Walker's exhibition marks the reopening of the gallery after a full remodel. Marty Walker Gallery is located at 2135 Farrington St. Night Vision hangs Tuesdays through Saturdays through October 10. Call 214-749-0066 or visit martywalkergallery.com.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Sept. 12. Continues through Oct. 10, 2009
