Thanksgiving is over, so it's time to take down the cornucopias. Bring on the December dazzle shows! If you want to get started early on the "lots and lots of lights" Christmas tradition before November even ends, this weekend's Fifth Annual Light Up Lee Park Festival & Fireworks Display offers the perfect opportunity. Trees and many of the architectural details of Arlington Hall will be illuminated with hundreds of thousands of LED lights for your enjoyment. Energy-efficient lights will make this particular display "green," because goodness knows a white Christmas is rare around these parts. Additional activities for this celebration include entertainment of all kinds, a fireworks display, food and drinks, and Santa Claus posing for photos available for purchase (benefiting the Lee Park & Arlington Hall Conservancy). The park will be illuminated every night throughout the holidays, but be one of the first to check it out Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. Lee Park is located at the corner of Turtle Creek Boulevard and Hall Street. Visit arlingtonhallatleepark.com.
Sat., Nov. 29, 6-9 p.m., 2008
