Every weekend, thousands of people in North Texas spend hours preparing for an age-old waltz. They focus their minds on the execution of traditional tango. They get geared up to go out and try to get themselves laid. Nowhere is this time-honored tradition more respected than in Addison. There, the reverent residents live in a kind of sexual seclusion, cloistered with casual dining establishments and shopping mall-sized bars. Truly, the life of a yuppie is one of sanctity in the name of this ancient ritual. And now they've developed a holy festival called Taste Dance: Addison Style!, a weekend filled with randy reels sure to help even the frumpiest of outsiders taste the joy of meaningless casual sex with that hottie from the sales department. Just kidding! Do you really think the Addisonites would share their sexy secrets with the masses? No way. Taste Dance: Addison Style! is an actual dance festival held this weekend at the Stone Cottage in the Addison Conference and Theatre Center, 15650 Addison Road, featuring a variety of traditional dances. Shows start at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday; tickets are $3 to $6. Call 214-219-2290.
Fridays, Saturdays, 7-8 p.m. Starts: Aug. 11. Continues through Aug. 19
