Will Ferrell, Zach Galifianakis to Play Tug-of-War with Troops in Fort Worth

If you've watched any TV of late you've likely caught the above trailer for Campaign, the election-season send-up starring Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis as rival congressional candidates in the South.

The movie opens August 10, and to promote it, its stars will travel to DFW on Wednesday, and no doubt make the day of the troops at Fort Worth's Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base. They'll do some media -- Mixmaster's in-house film geek, James Wallace, will be there and report back -- and then play tug-of-war with the troops. The event isn't open to the public, but I'm sure you won't have a problem sneaking in.

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
