If you can’t make it to TacoCon, head to FIG. Better yet, learn to manage your time and attend both. FIG sounds like a lesser food, right? WRONG! It’s the Fashion Industry Gallery and it’s holding its Finale — which isn’t a celebration of the gallery’s untimely demise, but actually a huge-ass mega sale for you and your friends ... even the really self-absorbed bitchy one. On Friday, FIG Finale Shopping will be available from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. It promises “designer deals from top stores and brands,” which leads you to believe that they have prices on par with Maxxinistas. We’re talking up to 75 percent off brands like DVF, Elizabeth & James and Wildfox plus no questionable snack gauntlet at checkout. The Finale runs from Thursday to Saturday. Tickets are available at fashionindustrygallery.com and start at $10. FIG is located at 1807 Ross Ave.

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
